I have a connection with the router, but I cannot access the Internet.
What can I do?

You’ve completed the installation process and your computer, phone, tablet or other wireless device is connected to the router. Unfortunately, you still cannot access the Internet.

There may be various causes for your inability to access the Internet. To rule out specific causes, we recommend you perform the following actions.

1. Check if the problem is occurring on just one device or on several devices

Check whether the problem is occurring only on 1 device. Try to connect wirelessly with another device and then access the Internet. If the Internet is working on the 2nd device, then there is a problem with the device that you initially wanted to connect with.

2. Reboot the modem and router

If the Internet is not working on the 2nd device either, we recommend you reboot both your ISP's modem and the router.

Switch both devices off or unplug them briefly from the mains socket. First plug the modem back into the mains socket and wait for around 2 to 3 minutes until the modem has completely rebooted itself. Now plug the router back into the mains socket and also allow it to reboot itself. This generally takes 2 to 3 minutes.

Now restart the computer and check if you are connected to the router. Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Safari) and attempt to access a website.

3. Connect the computer directly to the modem

If the Internet is still not working on any computer, there is a problem in the connection between the modem and the router, or no Internet signal at all is being received in your home. To check this, we recommend you connect a computer directly to the modem.
To do so, insert a network cable into the Ethernet port on the computer and into a LAN port on the modem. If you still do not have Internet access, we advise you to contact your Internet Service Provider. If the Internet is working now, there is a problem in the connection between the modem and router.

To establish a connection between the router and the modem, the router needs to obtain an IP address. Click here to see if your router has obtained an IP address.
